Exploring the Future of Food Design.
SiOCAST proudly participated in B(i)TES – Mapping Food Design through Phygital Food Systems, an exceptional exhibition organized by Elisava in Barcelona. This event, hosted at Elisava’s iconic location on La Rambla, brought together an eclectic mix of international food designers, industry pioneers, and interdisciplinary teams to explore the evolution of food design in a world increasingly shaped by the integration of digital and physical experiences.
An Innovative Platform for Food Design

Curated by FORK, Food Design Lab Lisbon, and Foodscapes, the B(i)TES exhibition focused on reimagining food systems through a unique lens that combines community engagement, cultural adaptation, and sustainability. One of the central themes was the concept of “phygital” food experiences—where the physical act of eating merges with digital interaction to create multisensory connections with food.
The exhibition featured contributions from renowned names in the food and design world, including Ferran Adrià, Mugaritz, and Luki Huber. SiOCAST proudly showcased its pioneering technology as part of this collective vision, demonstrating how our innovations align with the exhibition’s focus on creativity, sustainability, and forward-thinking design.
A Vibrant Opening Event
The inauguration of B(i)TES was a vibrant affair, filled with inspiring presentations, interactive exhibits, and an impressive gathering of thought leaders in the food and design sectors. Attendees explored groundbreaking projects and connected with innovators pushing the boundaries of food systems.
For SiOCAST, the event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with industry experts and demonstrate how our technology supports the production of customized food molds for chocolates, bonbons, and other edible creations. By enabling rapid prototyping and localized manufacturing, we offer sustainable solutions that empower designers to bring their visions to life.

Networking with Visionaries
The event also featured a networking dinner that fostered meaningful connections and exchanges of ideas. Professionals from diverse backgrounds—chefs, designers, technologists, and sustainability advocates—gathered to discuss the future of food design.
Ferran Navarro, CEO of SiOCAST, participated in discussions about how technology can foster innovation in the food industry. «B(i)TES is a hub of creativity and collaboration,» Navarro shared. «It’s events like these that inspire partnerships and innovations to transform food design into a sustainable and imaginative process.»
Shaping the Future of Food Design
SiOCAST’s presence at B(i)TES underscored its commitment to advancing food design through technology. As a company at the forefront of innovation, SiOCAST contributes to a global conversation about the future of food systems—embracing sustainability, customization, and the seamless integration of digital tools with traditional craftsmanship.
The insights and connections fostered during this exhibition continue to shape our approach, further positioning SiOCAST as a leader in merging technology with gastronomy.
We extend our gratitude to Elisava and the curators of B(i)TES for organizing such a visionary event. SiOCAST looks forward to ongoing collaborations that redefine the future of food design.
